Yet another reason to hate Kmart...

Sunday morning I had to teach Sunday school and, of course, waited until the last minute to get what I needed. I decided to run to Kmart in the morning before church to quickly grab what I needed. Big mistake. As I was walking through the store I noticed the huge back to school section. Need I remind you of my pen fetish? Let me tell you, it was like I was walking by Disneyland and couldn't go in. I knew I didn't have time (or money) to shop so I literally had to tell myself over and over "you can come back later, it's only July, you can come back later". Seriously, people in the store must have thought I was insane. Being the ever patient person that I am, I waited until Monday to go back to Kmart and check out their stuff. Sad, I know. You know that part in You've Got Mail where Tom Hanks says that if he knew who he was writing to he would send her a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils? I love that part. If Matt walked in with a bouquet of pens and clean notebooks I do not know how I would contain myself. Anyway, back to Kmart. I was so incredibly disappointed! The only thing that had good sale prices were the crayons, but not the washable ones, and I had a horrible time trying to find stuff for Bennett. Do you know how hard it is to find stuff for boys that isn't gross or scary looking? I found tons of cute stuff for KJ - princess, strawberry shortcake, care bears, and lots of pink polka dot stuff, but they didn't really have anything for Bennett. He is kind of over the Cars thing, and they didn't have any camo-type stuff which he likes right now. They didn't even have solid blues or reds, everything was pastel. No wonder girls like school more than boys! Once again I was reminded how badly we need a Target. Now that gas prices are so high it is hard to justify a quick trip to Ventura just to go to Target but I don't know what else we are supposed to do. Maybe I should open a target. Or run for president. You know, since both are equally as likely.

They closed all the Kmarts around here, and I feel your pain. Mike tells Miss N that SuperTarget is her second home. When we pull in the parking lot she starts saying basket, basket!!

And I am sad to tell you that we bought the Bubble Bots at Supertarget :(
